Sidewalk Palooza!
Because Sidewalks Need Love, Too!
DC’s streets have events like Pothole Palooza and Alley Palooza, but our sidewalks are still waiting for their turn in the spotlight. Sidewalks aren’t just underfoot; they’re essential for everyone—whether you’re walking, rolling in a wheelchair, pushing a stroller, or using a mobility device.
Sidewalk Palooza is your chance to advocate for pedestrian safety and accessibility. From September 28th through October 6th, join us in your neighborhood to highlight broken sidewalks, missing crosswalks, and other issues that impact our daily lives and accessibility for all.
How You Can Participate:
- Organize or Join a Sidewalk Palooza Event: Gather with neighbors for an event near you.
- Walk/Roll the Walk: Report crucial issues like damaged sidewalks, tripping hazards, missing sidewalks and crosswalks, and accessibility challenges.
- Take Action: Connect with local elected officials and community advocates to push for systemic improvements.
And don't forget to use the hashtag #SidewalkPalooza.
